Dumbarnie Links is a modern links course with a distinctly different character.
Set across 345 acres on Fife’s southern coastline, the course combines sweeping views across the Firth of Forth with a layout that continually asks players to adapt.
Just 12 miles from St Andrews, the ‘Home of Golf’, Dumbarnie sits on genuine links land overlooking Largo Bay. Fourteen holes have views across the bay and Firth of Forth, while the site’s natural contours create elevated tees, changing perspectives and a course that rarely plays the same way twice.
Unlike many traditional links courses, Dumbarnie doesn’t simply head out and come back. Holes are routed towards different points of the compass, meaning no two consecutive holes follow the same direction.
The result is a course where the wind is constantly part of the challenge. Players must adapt from hole to hole, responding to changing wind directions, different angles and the natural features of the land.
With its spectacular setting around the golden sands of Largo Bay, Dumbarnie combines the character of traditional links golf with a modern approach to course design.
The course features several driveable par-4s and a number of holes that encourage risk-and-reward play, giving golfers the opportunity to take on the course in different ways. Long and short par-3s, elevated tees and a variety of tee and pin positions add further strategic interest throughout the round.
The course can be played from approximately 5,300 to 6,900 yards, with an additional set of professional tees allowing it to extend to 7,620 yards when required.
Whether you’re looking to test your game from the championship tees or simply enjoy a memorable round by the coast, Dumbarnie offers a challenge that rewards creativity, strategy and good decision-making.
